A gritty and gutsy programme,
the St Basil’s Media Box project has been a tremendously touching and moving experience for all those involved. Its purpose has been to enable empowerment, self-confidence and skills development for the participating young people, through the uses of cutting edge multimedia technology.

This has been an amazing coming together of young people’s latent potential and some of the Midlands leading media artists. This project demonstrates the transformational role the media arts can play in enabling some of our most vulnerable young people to find their voice and reach towards opportunities within the regions growing creative industries. The powerful media products, which the young people have themselves produced, serve to celebrate their emergent skills, talents and aspirations.

This project leaves us at Dynamics Community Arts strengthened, uplifted, and inspired. We take great pleasure in presenting this website to you, which contains much of the work produced by the young people themselves, and hope you enjoy watching it, just as much as the involved have enjoyed creating it.

I am pleased to say that the Media Box programme has been a very positive experience for young people at St Basils.

It has provided opportunities for young people to engage in media and the arts and showcase their talents. For some it has been their first experience of such a programme and for others it has been an opportunity to stretch their learning further and into other art mediums. The Media Box programme has been a significant part of establishing our Arts Academy at St Basils and providing young people with opportunities they may never have had.
